I won't describe the storyline because others have done so. Suffice to say it's not your usual romance novel, not in terms of plot or characterization. The author's ability to weave in the threads of plot and character development is masterful; I often recommend this book to other writers of genre fiction.

After all these years, this book remains my Desert Island Romance. All hail Laura Kinsale!
