What in the fanfiction did I just read? This was my first time reading Tessa Bailey and it might've been the wrong thing to start with. I got this short story for free so I thought, might as well try it to see if I like her writing. This was just... not for me. I get that this is a short story, so there's no time to really develop a relationship between the characters, but that's obviously what the author tried to do. It just doesn't work when you only have 50 pages to do it. She tells me they have an instant, soulmate-like, once-in-a-lifetime kind of connection, but I didn't feel anything. A short bio of Tessa Bailey on the back of this booklet calls her the "queen of dirty talk" but if this story is any indiciation of her style of spice/smut, I don't think it's the kind of romance I vibe with. I'm so tired of the "good girl" nickname. Just... stop. It sounds  like you're talking to a pet. It's not sexy. Then again, the little excerpt of 'Wreck the Halls' at the end of this booklet peaked my interest. So maybe I do wanna try more of Tessa Bailey? 🤷🏻‍♀️
