sThis book was adorable. It gave me a ton of feels and I already want to re-read it.  Especially with the playlist provided by the author.  I'm listening to it after reading the book and I can literally imagine the chapters as I'm listening to each song.  She really nailed that vibe. I was hesitant to read it at first because the blurb doesn't even remotely match the content of the book.
I don't think the MMC, Chase, once considered how dating the FMC, Bailey, would be bad for his college career.  He freakin' adored her.

That said, there were some issues overall that made me give the book 4 stars instead of 5.  It could use some good editing.  Not so much for grammatical reasons but continuity reasons and cutting out fluff. An example would be the parents' financial stress storyline.  It was added in, created dude to dude bonding and angst, but never actually went anywhere? By the end of the book there was no resolution and it was all awkward. Some consistency issues as well, one minute the FMC would be wearing a black shirt and then it would be dark green. Time moved fast but we somehow skipped Thanksgiving that was supposed to be spent with his family and went straight to Christmas trees?  Anyhow, I really loved the book.

As someone who DESPERATELY hates the miscommunication trope, I enjoyed that there was none of that in this book.
The main characters openly confessed their "I love you"s which was a nice change of pace from the angst a lot of hockey romances have of only confessing after they break up. The third act break-up was dramatic, but I appreciated that it came from something other than miscommunication and didn't last long.  The characters didn't pine for weeks, the MMC did what he needed to do to get the FMC back.

I had high hopes for the epilogue, but it fell flat.  The MMC says some of the sweetest things in the book but we get a 3-4 sentence proposal that was awkward?  It was definitely a bummer for me, I fell in love with them both through the book and just didn't get the satisfying ending I was hoping for.
