I don't quite know what to say right now. I very much thought this was a standalone because how else would you explain the 500-page count? But then I was getting to the 80% mark, and I hadn't really even had a glimpse of the plot, only to now find out that this will be a trilogy. Of course it will.
This had some really interesting ideas, and I loved the setting, but everything just dragged on for way too long. Which is ironic because I felt like the MC getting feelings for the love interest came out of absolutely nowhere. I really enjoyed the reveal that came at the very end of that last chapter (though the audio narrator changing almost gave me a heart attack), but i just don't think it's enough to make me want to continue the series considering that I had to really force myself to finish after I hit the 70% mark.
