I was captivated by all the little details of life at Versailles! The story of three little girls from widely different backgrounds becoming friends is full of pathos, but never sickly sweet. It was so interesting to see the characters of Marie Antoinette and her children come alive, and to see characters on both sides of the French Revolution fighting to protect those they love.
A well-told story with excellent writing!
