Piece of My Heart
by Mary Higgins Clark, Alafair Burke
Finishing this book felt like the bittersweet end of an era since it is the last book Mary Higgins Clark worked on before her death. I've been reading her books since high school, starting with Remember Me. And while Piece of My Heart wasn't a spectacular book or anything particularly memorable, it was like curling up on the couch with an old friend. An easy, quick read, that I enjoyed the way you enjoy a popcorn movie: entertaining without a lot of depth or complexity. The mystery was pretty obvious if you thought about it at all. But that was ok, because I was just looking for a fun, relaxing read.
