The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo
by Taylor Jenkins Reid
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo is the nuanced life story of fictional starlet, Evelyn Hugo. It develops themes of love, family, grief, and identity. It is well written and developed by the author. However, I don’t think I got as dramatically pulled in as others. While I think the story was unique and well-developed, I didn’t feel I wanted to rave about as some. I know this may be an unpopular opinion, but I do believe one can enjoy reading a story without loving it. I still recommend this title as a good read, and look forward to reading some of Taylor Jenkins Reid’s other books.
