Are You Enjoying?
by Mira Sethi
I like short stories because they frustrate me.
There’s something oddly satisfying about a short story that is so intricate that it immerses you completely in its vivid world and then ends in a snap. The frustration of not knowing what happens next keeps gnawing at you until you grudgingly learn to leave the story where it ends.
Am I mad there was no ending (good or bad) to these stories? Yes.
Would they have such a strong impact of me if they weren’t so hazy? No.
This is a phenomenal debut by Mira Sethi. Extremely vivid and detailed, these stories about love and longing are mesmerising.
This book deserves every ounce of praise it has received.
