As a fan of sapphic stories, Love in Focus delivered a lot of what I look for: great representation, emotional depth, and a genuinely sweet romance at its core.
Gemma and Celeste are compelling on their own, but I did find it a bit jarring that Gemma’s chapters were written in first person while Celeste’s were in third. It made the dual POV feel uneven. I also wish there had been more scenes of them together and more time to see their connection grow naturally and really feel their love story develop.
That said, what we do get is tender, affirming, and full of heart. If you’re looking for a sapphic romance that centers identity, growth, and healing, this one is worth picking up.
Thank you to NetGalley for the advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
