Carrie by Stephen King
3.0

I'm not generally a big fan of reading books where I know what will happen, and Carrie is both a book that announces what the story is right from the beginning, as well as such an iconic book that you've probably heard the biggest plot points. There were still a few surprises certainly, but I think this book wasn't as well paired for my current mood upon finishing it as it had been when I started. The way the story and pieces of media exploring the events after the fact were interlaced gave a kind of clinical detached feeling, in the beginning especially, but most of the characters gained more personality as the story progressed. I guess it was just a weird mix of what I expected and not what I expected, which is not a surprising outcome for a widely read and adapted story.
