This was a cute, fun read, definitely on the younger end of middle grade. Hardy's worldbuilding is so quirky and imaginative, with a magical forest that grows mechanical parts, and an adorable robot dog. 

The illustrations by George Ermos are great and add so much enjoyment to the book. The front cover is great too. 

Overall I enjoyed it, and while it isn't a personal favourite, I can definitely imagine a lot of kids absolutely loving it.
