This book is set in the 60s when women was expected to be a good housewife and take care of the kids. Beverly was raised in politics with her father and married to a campaign manager. She walks into her husband's office and catches him cheating. Rather than letting it slide, she decides to divorce him. 

This story really portrayed the frustration of going through a divorce when women didn't have many rights and divorces were frowned upon. 

Once she takes up a job as a campaign manager of her husband's rival, things really gets interesting. The casts of characters all played such an important role in the story and I love the humor brought into the story.

What I found was that this story is so relevant in our current political situation where women's rights are being taken away.
