And Playing the Role of Herself
by K.E. Lane
Feels so much more organic and less tropey and formulaic than most more recent sapphic romances. The relationship progresses naturally, and we actually get scenes of the characters interacting with friends and family and just living their lives that aren’t directly tied into the main romance narrative, making the characters and the world feel fleshed out and real. The characters have traits and backstories that also aren’t directly tied into the main romance narrative. I loved reading a sapphic romance that felt like an actual novel!
