The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue follows a 23 year old girl named Addie LaRue in 1714. She is a dreamer and wants to be free. On the evening of her wedding, she runs away from her parents and ends up making a deal with a devil named Luc. From there she lives 300 years of people forgetting who she is. She can not own anything and has to find ways to sleep and get food. One day in 2014 at a bookstore in New York, a man named Henry remembers her. From there they form a relationship. Is it too good to be true?
Okay, I really struggled with Addie LaRue. I wanted to DNF it so much. The story definitely has a slow build and is more character driven than plot driven. I found the writing and prose to be beautiful, but sometimes over the top. However, once we got into the story I was bored. I was not interested in the romance. I felt like they only liked each other because she could be remembered by Henry. I did enjoy some of the flashbacks though.
