This was my second favorite book in the Giver series, but still far off from my love for the original story. I really enjoyed getting the backstory for baby Gabe and getting to see more of the world that Lois Lowry created. I think this was my second favorite because it took me back to the original story in a way, just from a new perspective. After Claire escaped on the cargo ship and went to the new community it kind of lost some umph for me but I still enjoyed most of her tale.
