Audiobook narrated by the author. Sometimes memoirs bother me with the name dropping and bravado. This memoir focused more on his journalistic endeavors and the people whose stories impacted him in profound ways. This book had many “driveway moments” (NPR supporters - iykyk) and many other moments that opened my eyes to people and experiences different than mine. Shapiro hopes that his reporting connects people from disparate experiences and makes connections for them to become more empathetic and caring about the world. This book certainly supports his endeavors.
