A modern retelling of a myth. Although my knowledge of Greek mythology is minimal, this did not affect my enjoyment of the book, except to make me want to find out more.
Circe is a wonderful character, not perfect, but thoroughly sympathetic, and the writing makes the magical/mythological storylines not only believable but alive and relevant. Great cast of supporting characters, and one of the most satisfying endings to a book I have ever come across.
