I feel like it's important to tell you that I don't really read a lot of sci-fi or get on that well with the ones I have read, and yet TLWTASAP has just punched straight into my FAVOURITE BOOKS OF 2017!!! That's right. That's how much I loved this crazy, heart-warming, hilarious book. So, you need to pick it up too so we can all fangirl over it together!

Much like with the Night Circus (another one of my faves this year) and its incredible atmosphere but negligible plot, I found the best part of TLWTASAP to be its unforgettable characters rather than the storyline. That's not to say that the plot isn't solid!! It's there, it moves along, it's good fun, but the characters are what really makes this book amazing. The crew of the Wayfarer is made up of nine people, all from different species in the Galaxy, all from different backgrounds, with secrets and hopes and loves, and they all are sweet cinnamon buns (okay maybe not Corbin) and have found a forever place in my heart!

As well as making me laugh and tear up, this book holds an important message that we could all use in these dark times: that we can all learn from other cultures, that we can try to understand each other, respect each other and ultimately get along. One of my favourite parts of the book was learning more about each characters' planet and customs!

Oh also. You will have ALL THE SHIPS. SHIP ALL THE COUPLES. that is all.
