A lot of the poems had to do with his dad, immigration, and his sexuality. There are many poems in this collection that are from different people’s perspectives. Honestly it was kind of hard for me to get into at first but then I got really into it. There’s part of one poem that I can’t get out of my head,

“Dear god, if you are a season, let it be the one I passed through
to get here.

Here. That’s all I wanted to be.

I promise.”
