this started as a sweet story about the power of community and friendship, especially in times of crisis, but the sheer ridiculousness of the plot took me out of it.

you're telling me a) a principal allowed a child to make a speech at assembly without running it past anyone first, and b) the council waived their nonsense bureaucracies to make a shelter because a little girl talked to someone from the future (but didn't have to, you know, prove it to the adults). sure, jan.
