This was such a surreal experience. The prose was evocative, visceral at points. It talked a lot about shit and I was grossed out at points and couldn’t get behind it. I really enjoyed how the Chang explored generational trauma, misogyny and love. The dog stuff was really weird and the obsessive nature of the girls friendship reminded me of my own homoerotic friendships when I was young.
