My Year of Rest and Relaxation by Ottessa Moshfegh

kind of a boring read overall, but well written. This book has nice prose.

the narrator is entirely unlikable & that spills over into every other character as well. The only characters I liked hearing about were the Egyptian bodega owners.

Granted the book is about medicated sleep for a year, but I thought something more serious would happen in the book, especially towards the end when she is deeply medicated for 4 months straight.

ALSO weird 9/11 mention at the end of the book.... like is that really what helps the main character keep her head on straight after her year of rest and relaxation? Felt like that was a cop-out for a reminder on how beautiful life is when you keep your eyes open.
