I was intrigued as to how the author would lead me to feel anything remotely nice towards Lucien but it was accomplished. My dislike for him stemmed from his bad behaviour in previous books and I couldn’t see how he’d be redeemed. He wasn’t so much redeemed but accepted for the monster he is by Jamie.

Jamie who saw both Lucien and his monster due to his seer abilities, who not only accepted them but loved them fully and without restraint. Being the light to Lucien’s darkness, full of happiness, some sass, taking joy in everything and with a mighty inner strength makes Jamie the perfect mate for Lucien. And I loved some of Lucien’s unexpected reactions as he was so overwhelmed by the intensity of his feelings for Jamie.

This was a very enjoyable and engaging read with lots of steam, some external angst and a life changing HEA for both of these very likeable characters. Yes, Lucien became very likeable!
