this was very entertaining and super fun.

it has some moments that are reminiscent of „practical magic“ especially the movie but also some moments from the book by alice hoffmann. it reminded me a good amount of how the aunts and later the sisters were seen by people in their town, but how they came to them when they were in trouble or wanted something. but otherwise they were seen as strange and even crazy.
the mother in this story was very much that way.

i think i highlighted at least one entire paragraph on each page because the writing was so perfectly phrased or just so perfect in what it said and how it was said.

i just really loved this.
it’s a wonderful story about a mother daughter relationship, how those change and evolve throughout a child’s live -from teenage years to their own adulthood and parenthood- and how that child learns that a parent is also a person and has to make choices.

it’s very much a story about a single parent and especially a single mom that did her best during a time where single moms where not the norm at all. but she made it work and used any method she wanted to do that.

i really just enjoyed how it was written and the characters and the story itself.

i highly recommend this and will reread this in the near future.
