Pip Bartlett's Guide to Magical Creatures
by Jackson Pearce, Maggie Stiefvater
Pip Bartlett lives in a world with magical animals -- including everything that you've heard of, like Unicorns, and a lot of things that you haven't, like Miniature Silky Griffins and Fuzzles. Fortunately, or unfortunately, depending on your point of view, Pip can understand magical creatures and uses her abilities to cause some messes and fix a few others. This absolutely magical middle grade novel had me actually grinning in delight. It was zany and fun and reminded me of why I loved reading so much as a kid and why I still read now.
