Apparently I'm an unpopular opinion. I loved The Sanatoriumand I would love to pick up whatever Sarah Pearse writes next.
The Sanatorium is perfectly atmospheric and had me wondering just who the killer was until the end. Yes, it has some similarities to One by One by Ruth Ware- that they both take place in the Alps and there are avalanches, and murders - but the plots are very different. In fact, I would say The Sanatorium is better than One by One.
If you like atmospheric reads, locked room mysteries, mounting body counts, and some family secrets mixed in - I highly suggest you pick this one up.
Perfect for: Completing an atmospheric thriller book flight (I'd pair it with One by One and Every Vow You Break), picking up on a rainy day, picking up for a snowy day, and picking it up for a summer day or vacation read.
In other words - just pick it up.
