The Measure by Nikki Erlick

This book makes you think!!!!

The ethics, morals, and rationalizations of the strings blew my mind the entire time. It made me reflect upon my own life and if I would want to look to see how long my string was, how long my partner's string was, maybe even how long my family's strings were.

The story with 8 POVS was confusing at first but I ended up being pretty invested in everyone's stories. I liked Ben and Amie's journey the most. With the anonymous letters, the lovesick soldier story and how they met IRL and clicked without knowing they had been writing to each other.

The presidential POV was interesting but also not my favorite. I don't enjoy the manipulative and sleazy way politics try to put down their opponents so I didn't love that part with the short stringers.

Overall this was an awesome book club read and something I probably wouldn't have picked up on my own.
