By now you should know two things about me:
- If Malloy Dunlin writes it, I’m gonna read it
- I am a real sucker for MMF or MFM romance
This is a novella set in the same universe as my beloved Monsters of Faery series, and had a lot of the same elements I love. Dark fantasy vibes, monster MMCs, and unique world-building. I also really enjoyed the way real myths/legends were woven into the story as well.
Alexis Sharpe has been taken into Faery after being pursued by the Dullahan as part of the Wild Hunt. What she doesn’t know, is that she is now the fated soulmate of both the god pursuing her and one of his hounds. The three of them must work to find their balance, both individually and as a triad, which proves to be a bit of a challenge with the existing power dynamic between Nuada and Keilain. They each have something valuable to offer Alexis, it’s just a matter of fitting the puzzle pieces together.
Turns out, they all love the chase and pursuing their soulmate is fun for everyone involved. Keilain works to remember who he was before he became a hound of the Dullahan while still keeping his hunting instincts, while Nuada learns having a “weakness” (or two) isn’t the worst thing in the world.
This was a fun, spicy romp back into Faery, and I really enjoyed the information about Faery courts and gods sprinkled throughout. If you’re looking for some yearning, primal play, and knotting, this is the story for you!
