This book has so many good things in it. Elizabeth Zott is a scientist who falls in love with Calvin Evans, a man who loves her for her mind, not her beauty. Elizabeth and Calvin have differing ideas about marriage and children but love sees them through until a sad accident one day. There is lots of quirkiness and joy in this book. There is love, there is rowing, there is science, there is cooking, there is public television. I love it all.
