This book is definitely slow to maybe medium paced plot wise. 
Personally I like details and medium pace, so this wasn’t necessarily a bad aspect for me. 
Rather the characters were a bit flat for a good amount of time until they started to get interesting.
The enemies to lovers trope was quite good in my opinion and overall for me it was a pleasant read and a good start to get back into the fantasy genre. 
Will definitely continue to read this series.
