Ice Like Fire by Sara Raasch

2.5 stars!
Now, I wouldn't say that this book was bad. It was enjoyable and I was reading it really fast. Even so I felt like I was constantly waiting for something to happen. I can see what the author was setting up and trying to tell through the story, but the execution could have been better. So, as I said. It wasn't bad, but nothing stood out to me.

The good:
- I found Mather's POV's really entertaining because sometimes I was just SO tired of Meira haha (a thing that happens in his POV was the only part of the book that made me *squeeeaaak*)
- Getting to know the other kingdoms better, I enjoyed the details about them
- I really liked Cerdiwen

The not-so-good
- I was waiting for something to happen
- I was still waiting for something to happen when I had 100 pages left
- The twists felt really obvious so nothing surprised me
- It was just... flat, big events and reveals didn't make me feel or care that much
- TOO much boy drama haha

Now I thought I liked Theron the most, but now I like Mather?? I think?? I'm not sure everything is confusing me.
Another thing that is weird for me is that the writing style of the author makes me think of my own writing style? ?? And it therefore feels really strange reading it. I'm sure it is not similar, but it just FEELs similar and it really put me off haha. I just feel like I would explain/write things in the same way as the author and I'm unsure if that is a good or bad thing... Maybe a bit of both, because even though I didn't have anything against the writing style it just felt kind of.. simple? Not that it is bad, just... I can't put my words on it.

Now, I'm not sure this is for everywhere but I'm sure a lot of people would still enjoy this so this is still something I would recommend!
