Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston
4.0

reread may 2021:

basically all my thoughts from last year are the same with this reread.

i enjoyed the characters, loved the family dynamics and enjoyed the romance but i found the book overall too long and a bit dragging in the middle and wish it was 100 pages shorter.

other then that is such a great book and really shows not only struggles with the lgbt+ community in the usa but also how stupidly the royals behave in england about anything that doesn’t fit into their need little klipped and only to their benefit rewritten mindsets. be it a gay prince or a princess of color.

all in all?
worth a read and super fun and such a nice romance, that has so much more then just romance.

first read april 2020:

this was fun and cute and such a nice slow building romance, that was well written and not full of stereotypes in anyway (not in plot, characteristics, writing or anything else someone else can think of that i cant think of right now because is so late it’s actually early)

i really enjoyed the siblings in this book.
i also really enjoyed how the relationships in this book evolved and builds up in a great but relatively seeming way.
i loved the quirks each character had.

but for me this book started to drag a little at around 60% and became too unrealistic towards the end in too many ways.

all in all i get the hype and love and it’s defiantly a book i will come back to when i need this type of story to cheer me up!
