The Two Lives of Lydia Bird by Josie Silver
3.0

Ratings:
Stars: 3/5
Readability: 4/5
Plot: 3/5
Recommend: Yes

Summary:
Following the unexpected death of her fiance (Freddy), Lydia finds herself stuck in two universes; one awake, where Freddy is dead, and one asleep, where Freddy is still alive. As major events in both universes shape her life, Lydia must decide which life is for her, the one with Freddy, or the one without.

What I Liked:
The ending with Lydia and
Jonah
. I'm glad they came to terms with their feelings and that some of it was left ambiguous.

When Lydia left for Croatia. I wasn't expecting it, but I'm glad she actually took charge and did something other than wallowing. Her logic that her sister wouldn't need help with a newborn was idiotic, but at least she finally got some balls to move on.

What I Didn't Like:
The addition of Chris in the middle was kinda random. I know it was to signify that Lydia was capable of moving on, but his disappearance later on was odd.

There wasn't anything major (other than the ending) that made me like the book a lot, especially since this was more about grief than any romance. I guess you could say it was a slowburn, but hell, it was a very very slow slowburn with no fire at all throughout the book.

Overall:
Overall, this is a middle-of-the-road book. I wish [a: Josie Silver|16737899|Josie Silver|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1579694078p2/16737899.jpg] either went with a story about grief or a story about love after grief, because this felt a little like neither aspects were fulfilled.
