I was initially drawn into the book with the premise, and it was interesting to hear the origin of the deal. I really wanted to love this book. As the book progressed, I felt such a lack of plot. It was just so repetitive. I couldn’t tell if the author was wanting the book to be written as a poem or novel. The prose was written well, but I had a hard time understanding the feel of the book.

I enjoyed the visits with her and Luc, and the beginning of her relationship with Henry was enjoyable to read. But overtime I just felt bored and the relationship wasn’t that interesting to me.

Unfortunately, I just never felt attached to the characters or finding them relatable. I’m normally a super emotional reader and cry in the most slightly sad moments. The ending was lost on me, and I didn’t cry or feel really emotional which was so surprising. Overall, it was an enjoyable read, but definitely not a favorites. The premise was amazing and I really thought it would like it as it’s right up my alley, it just never settled quite right for me.
