Superman: Earth One, Volume 1
by J. Michael Straczynski
Mix would be the best way I can describe this one. Some interesting ideas.
First off the thing you need to know before going in to this is this isn't Superman that you know. This is a different take on Clark, and one I found pretty interesting. The idea of finding his place, of not belonging, it's all handled pretty well (far better than Man of Steel movie) and the art is pretty fantastic.
The villain is generic and boring, hellbent on revenge. Nothing I found interesting. On top of that I hated the pacing for the best moments seemed rushed over for a over-dramatic showdown at the end.
Overall it's a fun title without a doubt and will read Volume 2-3 but couldn't help but feel a little bit more would have been even better.
