Eight Perfect Hours
by Lia Louis
She's done it again!! Lia Louis is likely my favorite new to me author for 2021. Dear Emmie Blue is still my favorite of her three books, but I really liked this one too! Our main lady is not where she wants to be in life since her best friend died at age 18 and she felt like she can't really move on. She lives with her agoraphobic mom to care for her and decides to go to her college reunion just to get her friend's time capsule item. The night of the reunion, there is a huge storm and they are sent home early but she gets stuck in traffic on the freeway. Over the 8 hours they're there, she meets the man in the car next to hers and they get to know each other. They go their separate ways and she expects to never see him again but their lives keep intertwining randomly when they least expect it. That said, there seem to be things keeping them apart.
