This book just changed mind and made me more aware of my impact on others and other people’s impact on me. Initially I thought that this was a good book about a boy and his best friend. The book continued to show how the boy just kept taking from the tree and lending on the tree when he was in need. I found it difficult to read the sadness in the tree’s voice as she whispered to the boy. She just wanted that boy to play with her but he never apologize for his selfish actions toward the tree.

I now want to get the tree stump tatted on me to remind myself to never reduce someone that I love into being a stump!
