I loved the depression rep and the Persian culture rep , the family aspect, at least with his grandparents and the friendship aspect (except for one incident)

I didn’t really understand why his new friend was so mean to Darius near the end it was totally out of the blue and made no sense whatsoever. Like he brought you shoes, it’s his birthday and he couldn’t have known what happened... 🙄 I definitely would have defended myself clearly and said something along the lines of „you can come to me when you stop hurting the people around you to make them feel as bad as you. Until then I don’t need to hear this shit.“

And I hated the Dad the whole time he was doing everything wrong all the time and his complete 180 at the end was totally unrealistic in my opinion.

I always hate reading about parents who don’t love their children unconditionally and always pick on everything they do and like... but it’s just something that grinds my gears because I study this.
