There’s 2 different timelines / POV we follow, one present and one past, but honestly I really enjoyed the past(Isabel) pov and finding out how this generational curse started. I felt the majority of Essie(present) story was just her feeling hatred towards her unborn child but love at the same time and also saying she had no choice??? Oh she was throwing up the whole time too where it didn’t do anything for the plot progression. Last 100 pages were good, kind of rushed but I still felt emotional at the end.
