Less Than Zero by Bret Easton Ellis
1.0

If I could give this book a half star I would. I hated it that much. Part of that might be because I had seen the movie ahead of time, loved that, and expected the book to follow the same if not a similar plot-line. Rather what I read instead was a series of words strung together in an attempt to formulate the vaguest of plots. The writing itself is well done but the content of the words is not something I care to read again. I feel guilty that this was a Christmas gift and someone wasted their money buying it for me. I don’t care to read about some rich kid coming home for Christmas and being upset about a house being sold in Palm Springs and being upset that his friends haven’t changed much since high school. Which newsflash maybe they have changed, maybe they haven’t, either way you’re a dick. Honestly it would have been a two star review had it not been for the completely unnecessary rape scene. Tip: If you throw in a rape scene and it has no affect on plot or character then maybe it wasn’t meant to be in the book. It’s one ramble of a book that I regret wasting my time on.
