I was hooked from the introduction. This indigenous queer collection was oh-so-good and offered some delightfully fresh takes on speculative fiction themes.
These voices were curated with intention. The writing was wildly imaginative, and played with apocalyptic themes & colonization within sci-fi worlds & bold optimism for future worlds.
Some stories were much stronger than others. Standouts for me were Eloise, Andwànikàdjigan, and History of the World.
CW: colonization, genocide, blood & violence, death, racism, grief, transphobia & homophobia, xenophobia, animal death, cancer, alcoholism, self harm, kidnapping, confinement, cannibalism, war, abandonment
