I just finished this book and it is my first completed read of 2021. I finished this book as apart of the Percy Jackson Readalong that is hosted by myself and Nicole (whopickedthisbook) on Youtube. While reading this book I kept thinking to myself. Okay "so what was the movie about?" I think the movie should be renamed "The Boy that Lived" because at this point there was almost no similarity between the book and the movie.

Percy Jackson and Grover's relationship were much more complex than I was lead to believe in the book. I also loved the addition of Kronos. There were monsters in the book that made the hero fight more interesting in my opinion. I am glad I watched the movie before reading the book. If I did it the other way around I would be so very upset with the choices that the movie made. Although I am a little frustrated by them. I must be honest, I thought maybe PJ would have been more annoying but I didn't mind his temper or his reasoning. I was floored by the difference in his relationship with Poisedon in comparison to the movie.
