Mary has done it again! This time transporting us back to the 90s and in the mountains in this paranormal romance! 

I really loved Julie has a character. She is trying to make the best out of her situation and is always looking ahead. Abe is a quiet man who keeps to himself and runs a wood furniture business. They secretly admire each other while at the diner. But when Bridget comes to town, it all changes.  Bridget is a meddler in the best way! We know she is a great matchmaker from Mary's other books but now we got to see a little more of her magic. Bridget warned Abe about a warlock that was in the area and turns out he is the creepy motel owner where Julie works in exchange for a place to stay. 

Abe allows Julie to stay in a cabin on his property and is respectful of her space. Their admiration for each other was screaming off the page. He was such a burly man and even though she was a plus size woman, she felt so comfortable next to him. I'm not always a fan of insta love but I will make the exception depending on the story and this was one where I thought it felt natural. Plus a bit of Bridget magic always helps! 

I was just so happy to see Julie get her happily ever after! We read about her struggles when she opening talked to Abe about her life and my heart just broke for her. The dialogue was honest and really brought their connection on a deeper level. 

Going into this book, I knew Mary was going to bring the heat and boy does she! She has such a way of writing spicy scenes that always makes me blush. And let's face it, just looking at the cover we knew Julie & Abe would be such a hot couple that you will root for. 

One thing I wish that we got more of is the backstory of how Julie is a witch. It kind of just happened and Bridget was there to help with any questions but there was no question of "how is this possible?" or "why?" 

The cover. As soon as Mary announced it, I was screaming!!! I am still amazed at the designs the last 2 years in books and especially in the plus size community. I just love seeing my body size represented! 

I am looking forward to the next books in the series & other books by Mary!
