The Unraveling is a solid, well written popcorn thriller of the domestic variety. Our main character, Meredith, has gone through tremendous loss and unfortunately it has also impacted her career as a psychiatrist. As the story begins it seems that she is turning a corner and getting back on track, but based on the title we all know that isn't happening.
If you like psychological and sexual tension, this book delivers. I found it predictable in a comforting, read when you're exhausted kind of way. And then the end took the predictability and turned it on its head just enough. Not too over the top, not too much suspension of disbelief.
CW: mental health professional acting badly, death
