michailina 's review for:
The Ashes and the Star-Cursed King
by Carissa Broadbent

The plot wasn’t as strong as in the first book. It was well-written, but I often couldn’t relate to Oraya’s feelings. In my opinion, she acted unnecessarily bratty – especially toward Raihn, even though she had no real reason. Drama for the sake of drama. He let her kill him to save her life and make her queen – and she acted like that was the worst thing ever!
Her anger toward her father was somewhat understandable, but she also came across as ungrateful. Sure, he made mistakes, but he gave her so much and let her live.

On the bright side, the current storyline is wrapped up. The next books will focus on the other houses, which sounds promising.
