If We Were Villains
by M.L. Rio
4.5 - If you are a fan of Shakespeare and theater, this is the book for you. I had been wanting to read this for awhile after hearing about it on a podcast. This was definitely different than any of the other thrillers I read this past year. The format for starters was unique as it was divided into 5 Acts and within the Acts the "chapters" were scene numbers. And there was a prologue at the start of each Act. This went with the theatrical theme woven through the book. I love the relationship between the 7 friends even as complicated it was then became. The last 50 pages were probably the best pages. Also I do not understand how this hasn't been made into a limited series. It is perfect for television!
