The Good Daughter
by Karin Slaughter
Nearly indescribable. Slaughter is fantastic at what she does, and what she does is consistently impress with gory tales of crimes in Georgia as experienced by a strong as hell female lead. Never does the dialogue feel stilted or the characters feel hollow. She does a splendid job not only of keeping me engaged while she moves the story forward but also writes in a way that both makes me balk and swoon at the lengths she goes to to include unique language, jokes and a mystery sure to keep you guessing.
