Leviathan Wakes

I have mixed opinions about this book. Overall, I did enjoy it. The worldbuilding was interesting, I liked the politics and cultural differences, the characters were generally well written. There were plenty of thrilling moments and at times it verged on horror.
Something felt lacking though. For a book that is so widely praised and hyped, the plot didn't feel that original or outstanding to me and while the characters were well written I didn't care that much about most of them. I predicted the ending several chapters before it happened.
I do intend to continue with the Expanse series, I've heard from a friend that book two is better than the first and I'm hoping that I feel the same way.
