I really really enjoyed this. I thought it was assured and complicated, and the characters were such shitty people, but you felt so much sympathy for them. Excellent.
A *little* slow in places, particularly the last third, I felt she wasn't quite sure how to wrap it up, and there's a second story line, the Whelan family, who are victims of Adan's crime, this for me wasn't as successful and interesting as the main storyline. but a very impressive debut, excellent novel.
