I’m really not sure what audience this book was written for. The character development is pretty simplistic and I didn’t really develop empathy and connection to the protagonist. The best criticism I’ve seen of this book is that “It tries to be feminist but ends up patriarchal.” That definitely fits. If you prefer stories with complex characters and dislike gender stereotypes, pick a different book.
